Active Components of Kaolin Mask
The product contains 100% powdered white clay, also known as Kaolin. This compound, also known as Chinese clay, is a soft mineral consisting mainly of the hydrated aluminum silicate mineral kaolinite. Kaolin powder is a soft, non-abrasive material which absorbs excessive sebum and contributes to skin vessels’ flexibility, boosting its collagen production. That’s why it is a good skincare product for oily and problem-prone skin.
Indications for Use
Kaolin mud masks are used in cosmetics and balneology for the following results:
- for skin toning and whitening;
- for skin vessels’ bloodstream improvement;
- for delicate cleansing;
- for the reduction of sebum production and exfoliation.
Use Directions and Safety Measures
You can use White Clay mud mask for several purposes:
- As a cosmetic skincare mask. Dissolve Kaolin powder in warm water in a 1:1 ratio in a non-metallic bowl and mix it until it gets creamy. Apply the mask in a thin layer on clean skin and delicately rub it into the skin for 2-3 minutes. Leave the mask for 10-15 minutes and wash it away with warm water. Applying a moisturizing cream after the mask is beneficial. Use the Kaolin mask 2-3 times a week.
- For scalp and hair care, you can prepare a similar solution and add 1 egg yolk to it. Rub the mixture into the scalp and cover the head with a towel. Wash it away in 15-20 minutes. Kaolin masks contribute to hair strengthening and oily hair care.
- You can make Kaolin baths for overdried and scaling skin areas (like knees, elbows, feet, or hands). For this purpose, dissolve 1 tbs in 1 liter of warm water and soak the limbs in the solution for 20-30 minutes. Then wash the remains from the limbs and use a moisturizing cream on affected areas.
