Nurofen Forte contains 400 mg of ibuprofen, a substance derived from propionic acid. Ibuprofen acts directly on pain, fever, and inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandines are pain and inflammation mediators, produced by COX enzymes. Use Directions and Safety
Nurofen Forte 400 mg is used orally. The medication can be used by adults and children from 12 years old. The maximum daily dosage is 1200 mg of ibuprofen (3 tablets per 24 hours). Tablets should be used with a glass of water.
Safety measures:
- Do not use it for children younger than 12 years old.
- Do not overdose. Do not take more than 3 tablets per day.
- Nurofen Forte, like other NSAIDs, shouldn’t be taken with aspirin.
- Do not use Nurofen Forte if you have hypersensitivity to ibuprofen, gastric ulcer, liver and kidney failures, cerebrovascular bleeding, or blood coagulation failures.
- It is not recommended to take Nurofen Forte during the last trimester of pregnancy.
