Lorinden A Ointment contains two active ingredients: salicylic acid and flumethasone. Flumethasone has an anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effect. Flumethasone is 420 times as potent as cortisone in for anti-inflammatory activity. Salicylic Acid occurs naturally in various plants. Use of Salicylic Acid in cosmetics over the last several decades salicylic acid has been introduced in a large variety of cosmetic products and also OTC (over the counter) products based on its different properties and effects on the skin. It make it a great ingredient in anti acne creams and ointments. These effects have been extensively been studied as evidenced by dozens of both laboratory and clinical studies. In fact, salicylic acid might be one of the most studied active ingredients in the cosmetic industry. One of the major properties of salicylic acid is its ability to remove skin cells of the most upper layer of the skin. It also facilitates the penetration of other active ingredients into the skin. This combination of ingredients is used for the relief of inflammation and itching due to skin conditions such as contact or allergic dermatitis (eczema) or seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis.*
